Common issues

401 after using a dashboard secret key

Stripe MCP stops accepting full-access and non-Agent restricted keys in December 2026 — create an agent API key or reconnect with OAuth. Unsupported keys return 401 with an OAuth discovery challenge. Source: docs.stripe.com/mcp ↗

Writes need extra approval

Stripe requires human confirmation for sensitive writes (e.g. refunds, outbound payments): the agent returns a URL you open and approve; approval expires after 24 hours. Source: docs.stripe.com/mcp ↗

Server blocked on a corporate network
